On March 28, we had a truly meaningful and inspiring day with students specializing in tourism from the „Gábor Áron” Vocational High School in Vlăhița, as part of the CAPambition2024 project co-funded by the European Union.
The main goal of our visits was to make agriculture and the agri-food sector appealing to the younger generation. This time, students gained insights into how tourism and agriculture can be effectively and sustainably linked together.
In Merești, we learned about the story of Almárium Restaurant, which, besides its rustic atmosphere and seasonal menus based on local ingredients, is committed to short food supply chains and local partnerships.
In Rareș, at the Nagy-Homoród Restaurant and Pension, we saw how a family farm can develop into a successful agro-tourism model and a local gastronomic point, emphasizing organic farming and healthy, local cuisine. It’s a great example of utilizing local tourism potential while preserving local values.
We sincerely thank everyone for their cooperation and openness! Building upon local resources, we can sustainably create a promising future for our youth!
